The Mayo Clinic, one of the highest-acclaimed hospitals in the United States, was founded in Rochester, Minnesota, and expanded to Arizona in 1987.
With locations in Phoenix and Scottsdale, the Mayo Clinic Arizona is consistently ranked as the #1 hospital in Arizona by U.S. News & World Report.
With such a reputation for top-notch care, it is no wonder that we receive many inquiries from Arizona residents wondering which health insurance plans are accepted by the Mayo Clinic.
At the time of this writing, none of the individual/family health insurance plans available in Arizona through the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) are accepted by the Mayo Clinic. That includes the 2021 Obamacare plans from Ambetter, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Bright Health, Cigna, Oscar, and United Healthcare.
Fortunately, there are still plans available to AZ residents that ARE accepted by Mayo Clinic. One option includes plans from United Healthcare that use their Choice Plus network. Another option, from National General, uses Aetna’s Open Choice PPO network. Both networks are accepted by Mayo Clinic. These plans often cost less than 50% of the cost of an Obamacare plan. They are a great option for people who are generally healthy and want access to a larger network than Obamacare plans currently provide.
