Your Doctor Might Not Accept Your Plan in 2016

Your doctor might not accept your health insurance plan in 2016. Lehrman Group has been marketing health insurance plans statewide in Arizona for over 25 years. Until right now, a person could buy almost any policy desired without having to wonder if his or her doctor took the plan. Most all providers took most all plans. That has changed dramatically for the 2016 health insurance plans in Arizona.

When we speak with a client regarding a plan for 2016, we now have to ask, first and foremost, “who are your doctors, and what hospitals would you want to use?” Since ObamaCare became the law of the land, huge numbers of providers have opted out of many plans. A large percentage of the people we’ve been talking to since Open Enrollment began on November 1 are finding that the doctors and hospitals they’ve been using for years are no longer in their health insurance plan’s network. Some people have found that their current doctors are not in ANY plan available in Arizona. These people will have to find new doctors and say goodbye to their existing doctors — they will have no other choice.

It is hard to comprehend why doctors would not want to be in as many networks as possible – don’t they understand they may be forced out of business if they no longer accept any insurance plans? Most people will not or can not pay cash to see their existing doctors, they simply will be forced to find new doctors.

Each health insurance company has a web link where one can look up which providers accept their plans, but many of these web sites are so complicated that the typical client of Lehrman Group has called and told us they found it impossible to look up their providers due to the complexity of these sites. We have been accessing these sites for years and do it many times on a daily basis. If you find it too confusing, please feel free to call us. We’ll let you know what plans your doctor’s accept or don’t accept. We don’t charge any fees, and whether you purchase a plan through us or go directly to healthcare.gov or to an insurance company’s website, you’ll always pay the same amount. No one can sell you a health insurance policy for less money than anyone else.

We can be reached from anywhere in Arizona at (800) 600-9663.
