Can You REALLY Keep Your Policy?

Yesterday President Obama said on television that you CAN keep your current Arizona health insurance plan if you want to, at least until January 1, 2015. That would mean that you would not be forced into losing your current plan and be required to purchase an ObamaCare plan, possibly at a much higher monthly premium.
I sure hope that this will actually happen for Arizona residents, like me. My existing Arizona Blue Cross Blue Shield policy, which I love, costs $775 per month for my wife and me. On January 15 – 60 days from today – my plan is scheduled to be cancelled and automatically replaced by the ObamaCare version of the VERY SAME PLAN, but at a new monthly cost of $1078. That’s $303 more (about FORTY percent more!) per month for the exact same policy.
Will the Arizona Insurance Commissioner allow this new development to actually take place? Will Arizona Blue Cross actually let me know that I can keep my existing plan (for at least a little while longer) or will I have to spend almost $4,000 more annually for the identical plan I already have? I don’t know.
We will keep you posted as soon as we get clarification for our sources inside Blue Cross of Arizona and the Arizona insurance commissioner’s office. Stay tuned…
